I begin to lose myself, my accent
My body becomes a walking television
My eyes watching the lives of others
I can drench my life in arts and food
Walks and long thoughts
But that basic human interaction
Between two people
That sparkle and jolt
Can never be replaced
Cooped up in my apartment
So trapped by my own thoughts
Yet I'm free to go out and share them
So many people minutes away
But I'd never dare say a word
I recall everything that night
From the sweat on your body, to the pictures on the wall
Do you remember it well?
Do you lay in bed at night and try to put together a picture?
The third drawer by the bed
And the television set way too low
"Better be quiet" you whispered in my ear
A dirty little secret that was only meant for us
And some nights I walk around
Where I play back these scenarios
A couple times a month
